Retainers We Offer
We provide three primary types of retainers, each selected based on the specific clinical needs of the patient.
Vivera™ Retainers
Vivera retainers are custom-molded, transparent trays that fit precisely over your teeth. They are a popular choice for patients who used Invisalign® clear aligners because they are virtually invisible. Initially, we prescribe wearing these for 18 to 24 hours a day, eventually transitioning to overnight use only.
Hawley Retainers
The Hawley retainer is a durable, traditional option made of a metal wire and a sturdy acrylic base. This design allows for minor adjustments if needed and is known for its long-term reliability and ease of cleaning.
Bonded Retainers
Often called permanent or fixed retainers, these consist of a thin wire bonded to the back of the front teeth. This provides a secure, constant level of retention without the need for patient removal. We often recommend these following orthognathic surgery or complex alignment cases to ensure maximum stability.
